Yes! Solo travelers are absolutely safe and welcome at our retreat in Berlin, San Ramón, Costa Rica.
We’ve designed the experience to be supportive, inclusive, and enriching, whether you come with a friend or on your own.
Many of our past guests have joined solo and found it to be the perfect opportunity for:

What is the average age range?
Although anyone is welcome.
The average age range of guests attending our retreat is typically 35 to 65 years old.
We welcome both men and women within this group, especially those looking for a meaningful and transformative experience combining writing, coaching, and relaxation in a supportive community.
Is a shorter or longer stay possible?

While our standard retreat is designed for a set duration, shorter or longer stays can often be arranged depending on availability and your personal needs.

Can a child join the retreat, or can I bring along my children? (under 12)
No. Because the Healing Hearts Retreat involves deep emotional work, grief, and trauma processing and requires an undisturbed, quiet environment for quiet contemplation and personal healing, this retreat is exclusively designed for adults (ages 18 and older).
Therefore, we do not accommodate children under 12, and childcare services are not available on-site.
Can I bring along my pet(s)?
Yes, but conditionally.
Because Vista Mundo is situated in an authentic mountain cloud forest environment, all pets must undergo a prior screening process before approval.
Important Safety & Liability Guidelines:
Screening Requirement: We evaluate pet suitability based on temperament, training, and adaptability to outdoor terrain.
Owner Responsibility: Full liability and care for the pet rest entirely on the owner.
Environment Awareness: Our center is surrounded by high-altitude wildlife and rugged mountain terrain where unaccustomed animals can easily stray, get disoriented, or get injured if left unsupervised or off-leash.
Group Retreat Exception: For facilitated group cohorts, pet accommodation is restricted to private rooms only to prevent disruptions to the shared deep-work environment.
Can you arrange an airport transfer? How far is it from the airport?
Yes, we can absolutely arrange airport transfers for your convenience free of charge!
Vista Mundo Retreat Center is located just 1 hour from the San José International Airport (SJO), making it one of the most easily accessible retreat destinations in Costa Rica.
Once your flight details are confirmed, we’ll coordinate a private or shared shuttle to pick you up and bring you directly to the retreat center in Berlin, San Ramón, hassle-free and comfortable.
We'll even include a stop at a grocery shop for you to fill up!

How many people will be on the retreat?
Our retreats usually host between 8 and 15 participants, creating an intimate and supportive environment where everyone can connect deeply while still enjoying personal space.
This size allows for meaningful group activities as well as one-on-one time with facilitators.
Are the dates flexible, or do you have any other retreat dates than this one? (if host is one-time / multiple)
Our schedule is flexible and constantly evolving!
We regularly add new dates based on interest, and we frequently open custom retreat slots based on suggestions from prospective authors like you.
If these specific dates don't fit your schedule, let us know your preferred timeframe. We can align you with an upcoming cohort or arrange a private, flexible sabbatical at our San Ramón sanctuary.
Is this suitable for teenagers? (12 to 18)
No. The Healing Hearts Retreat is designed exclusively for adults (ages 18 and older). Because the program involves intensive emotional processing, deep grief and trauma work, and a quiet, focused environment for personal reflection, it is not suitable for teenagers or minors.
Is the program flexible? Do I have to join all of the classes?
Yes, the program is completely flexible.
While we provide a thoughtfully structured daily schedule designed to maximize your healing and transformation, all activities (including daily yoga sessions, workshops, and nature walks) are entirely optional. You are encouraged to listen to your body and participate at your own pace, whether that means joining every session, taking time out for private reflection by the infinity pool, or resting in your apartment. Your healing journey is entirely your own.
